Now in the history books, the Julian Family Fiddle Camp exceeded all expectations. A good time was had by all attendees, and we were particularly excited for the two young fiddlers we sponsored, John and Thomas Harvey. Just prior to the camp they sent Distict 8 a very nice thank you for the generous scholarship. While we’ve yet to hear about their experience, the camp director, Avery Ellison, made a glowing writeup saying “..my personal expectations were exceeded on almost every level, i.e., from the number of people, to the caliber of teaching, the phenomenal performances given…”. Avery’s full article is here. We’re certain John and Thomas learned a lot and perhaps they’ll be back on our local stage sometime soon to showcase their new skills.
